Special Correspondent

Valid from July 10 to August 31 in all the four southern States

HYDERABAD: Direct-to-Home (DTH) service provider of the Zee Group, dishtv, has dished out a special offer for its audience in Southern India.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salil Kapur said a new connection could be bought for Rs. 1,990, which included an annual subscription for its freedom pack (base pack) of 100 plus channels. Installation and activation fee would be an additional Rs. 200. It would include the regional language channels in the respective States.

Besides, it also launched a ‘Hat-trick offer’ which would come free along with the base pack. Mr. Kapoor said that the offer consisted ‘Sports Advantage’, ‘Movie Advantage’ and the ‘Gaming Advantage’.

Sports Advantage

Sports Advantage consisted of a package of five channels — Ten Sports; Zee Sports; ESPN; Star Sports; and Star Cricket. He said 33 movies, costing Rs. 1,990, would be offered free on its ‘movies-on-demand’ service, including titles in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, besides Hindi and English blockbusters. As part of the ‘Gaming Advantage’, every subscriber would get a full year of unlimited gaming on its portal, Playjan.

The games included arcades, puzzle and cards.

The offer is valid from July 10 to August 31 in all the four Southern States.

The three special ‘pick packs’ will be offered for Rs. 25 each in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada, while Malayalam channels would be offered free.

He said dishtv enjoyed a market share of 57 per cent in India with 3.5 million subscribers, 575 distributors, and 38,000 dealers across 4,200 cities/towns. In all, 205 channels were aired through this network, whose made-in-Korea set-top box was interoperable complying with the regulations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and Board of Indian Standards.
