RTC increases bus frequency

To operate 10 services everyday from Secunderabad station to S.P. Biotech Park 216 caught travelling with fake bus passes; 1,415 passengers penalised for ticketless travel
HYDERABAD: Taking into consideration long pending requests from passengers, APSRTC has increased the frequency of buses on Route No. 211 T from Secunderabad station (near Gurudwara) to S.P. Biotech Park and ICICI Knowledge Park with immediate effect, a release said. APSRTC will operate ten services everyday from 6.10 a.m. to 7.55 p.m. from Secunderabad station and between 9.20 a.m. and 8.35 p.m. from S.P. Biotech Park.
APSRTC also informed that 216 persons were caught travelling with fake bus passes during surprise checks by its zonal enforcement squad.
Fines imposed
The bogus passes were confiscated and complaints launched with concerned police stations besides imposing fines totalling Rs.14, 455, it said.
Fines totalling Rs.38, 620 were also levied on 1,415 passengers for ticket less travel while 431 passengers were prosecuted by the mobile court for offences like footboard travelling and unauthorised occupation of seats reserved for ladies. the press release added.
