SSC students commit suicide

Two tenth standard students - a boy and a girl - ended their lives, reportedly dejected over their failure in the SSC supplementary exams on Wednesday, the police said. Sukanya, 15, hanged herself to the ceiling fan with a ‘chunni’ at Banjara colony. In the second incident, K. Abhinay killed himself by hanging near Yashoda hospital at Secunderabad.

Woman ‘raped’

A 30-year-old physically and mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by one Bhukya Chandra at Indiranagar Colony on Wednesday. The accused lured the victim to his house by offering food when he was alone, raped her and fled, the police said.

‘Stolen’ bus found

An RTC bus, which was allegedly ‘stolen’ after it was parked at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station on Tuesday night, was abandoned on the roadside at Dharmapuri of Karimnagar district on Wednesday.

The driver and conductor slept in the lounge after parking the bus of Nirmal depot near platform no. 60. They approached the Afzalgunj police as they did not find the bus the next morning.

Bomb hoax call

Anonymous persons created a flutter at the City Civil Court on Wednesday by raising a false alarm about a bomb.

The caller rang up the police control room stating that a bomb concealed in a black bag was planted on the court premises. Searches conducted at the court complex proved that it was a hoax bomb call.
