Kannur University MCJ and M.Sc. Physics Examinations: Second semester MCJ examination will begin on July 18, according to a press release issued by the Controller of Examinations. Second semester M.Sc Physics (2004 and 2005 admission) will start on July 23. M.Ed admission: Applications are invited for admission to M.Ed course offered by the university School of Pedagogical Science. University’s B.Ed course or equivalent degree from other universities with not less that 55 per cent marks is the eligibility. SC/ST, OBC/OEC and SEBC candidates will be eligible for getting mark concessions. The admission will be on the basis of marks scored at the qualifying examination and admissions test. Application forms and prospectus will be available on request to be submitted to the Director, Department of Education, School of Pedagogical Science, Kannur University Campus P.O., Dharmasala, Kannur - 670567. Filled-in applications should reach the Director on or before July 30 B.Ed Admission: Applications are invited for admission to the B.Ed course being offered by the university’s teacher education departments. The addresses are: Department of Teacher Education, Dharmasala, Kannur University Campus P.O., Mangattuparamba (phone: 0497-278 1290) offering the course in Malayalam, English, Sanskrit, Commerce, Social Studies, Mathematics, physical science, natural science (total 100 seats); Department of Teacher Education, Chala Road, Vidyanagar P.O., Kasaragod (phone: 04994-230 975) offering Malayalam, English, Kannada, Arabic, Social Studies, Mathematics, and physical science (total 100 seats); and the Department of Teacher Education, Edavaka P.O., Mananthavady (0493-527 1754) offering Malayalam, Hindi, Commerce, Social Studies, Mathematics, natural science (total 100 seats). Eligibility for admission is B.A./B.Sc degree or equivalent degrees from other recognised institutions with minimum 45 per marks for BA and 50 per cent for B.Sc. Candidates from Lakshadweep and those belonging to SC/ST communities are exempted from the minimum mark provision. Candidates should select as their subject what they opted as their main subject in the degree level. Five per cent concession will be allowed to candidates from OBC/OEC categories. Those who apply for B.Ed course on the basis of their marks in Part I English and Part II Language examination should have a minimum of 50 per cent marks in the respective Part examinations and no less than 50 per cent marks in the examination of the respective languages at post-graduate level. Last date for applying for the admission is July 25.
