One dies, 7 injured in accident

VILLUPURAM: One person was killed and seven others sustained injuries when the private bus in which they were travelling rammed a stationary lorry at Arasur near here in the early hours of Thursday.

The police said the bus was on its way from Chennai to Salem. In the impact a bus passenger Aiyappan (30) of Abiramapuram in Ramanathapuram district died on the spot, and seven others, including bus driver R.Jayakodi (40) of Madurai suffered injuries. Thiruvennainallur police have registered a case. — Special Correspondent
