Journalists’ union plan

PANAJI: The Goa Union of Journalists has called upon journalists across the State to sport black ribbons from Friday for a week while attending any functions, as a mark of protest against the “attack” on Soiru Komarpant, a photo journalist from Margao in south Goa on June 27, while he was covering the police action during communal violence. It sought an inquiry into the “attack” and recent cases of “violent” action by the police against journalists.
