KPCC opposes move for thermal surcharge

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has opposed the government’s move to allow Kerala State Electricity Board to levy thermal surcharge on consumers. In a statement here on Thursday, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala said the move was unjustified as thermal power contributed only a small portion of the power available to the State. The current power crisis was the KSEB’s own making.
