CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to develop 25 government colleges as centres of excellence in the first phase, Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said here on Thursday. He further disclosed that a budget provision of Rs.430.44 crore had been made to promote higher education in the State during the current financial year. He said all types of facilities would be made available in these 25 colleges including language labs, e-library facilities, adequate labs, computer lab, auditorium and seminar halls. Besides, the subjects in all streams would be taught in these colleges and the emphasis would be on teaching job-oriented courses. Mr. Gupta said the State Government had also sanctioned 15,000 seats in the job-oriented courses in the colleges from the current academic year. Computer education would be made available to all the students in these colleges.
