Canada and the United States agreed on July 9 to join together to study control methods for a system of Arctic inspection against aerial attack. An official statement from President Eisenhower and Canada’s Prime Minister, Mr. John Diefenbaker, said they would do this in co-operation with the free nations concerned in the effort to get Soviet agreement to disarmament inspection zones. In another agreement reached between the two leaders, Canada appeared to have won concessions from the U.S. on trade with Communist China.
