THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The newly constructed district civil station at Kudappanakkunnu would house 17 government offices and would have special facilities for the visually and physically challenged persons, Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran said here on Thursday. Addressing a news conference, the Minister said the nine-storey civil station would be inaugurated by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on its premises on July 15. Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy, Ministers and elected representatives and party leaders would attend the meeting. The civil station has a plinth area of 18,165 square metres and is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.16.85 crore in a 10-acre plot. The District Collector’s office will function in the first floor and there is a conference hall with the capacity to seat 150 persons in the second floor. All the other floors also have mini conference halls.
