Corrections and clarifications

The last paragraph in an article “Challenging the basis of Kyoto Protocol” (Editorial page, July 10, 2008) was “This is good news for Dr. Bashkirtsev, who together with another Russian solar physicist three years ago, bet climate scientist James Annan $10,000 that the Earth would cool down over the next decade. It is more than a wage; it is a contest between two concepts of climate change ….” It should have been “a wager”.

A few readers had a good laugh over the missing “way” in the caption for a photograph “Well Placed: Owners of residential buildings near schools are laughing all the bank to the bank” (“How schools contribute to rise in rentals of residential apartments”, Chennai city, July 10, 2008, page 3).
