KBA’s novel venture

The Karnataka Badminton Association, along with Go Sports and Sportz Village, will conduct a mega event to celebrate badminton — Sprite Invitation Bangalore Challenge — which will have players of the past and present.

The event, scheduled to be held on July 12, would feature Prakash Padukone, Vimal Kumar and the Beijing-bound Anup Sridhar. They will play exhibition matches along with Czech Olympic qualifier Petr Koukal, Sri Lanka qualifier Thilani Jayasinghe and the English junior players who are training at the Tata Padukone Badminton Academy.

Announcing the event, N.S. Sudhir, secretary of KBA, said: “We wish to make this an annual event. It will give an opportunity to watch the players of the past and present.”
