Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM: Bodies of three more Greyhound constables were recovered from the Chitrakonda (Balimela) reservoir in Orissa near Andhra Pradesh border on Thursday, 12 days after the launch in which they were travelling with others had capsized and sunk following an attack by the CPI (Maoist).

The bodies, fished from the spot where the launch sank, were identified as that of junior commandoes A. Ravi of Warangal district, P. Sudhir Babu of Prakasam district and Manoj Kumar of Krishna district. The number of those killed in the incident has gone up to 36 while two others are missing. Visakhapatnam Superintendent of Police Akun Sabharwal said the search would continue to locate the missing policemen. He said the bodies were sent by a helicopter for post-mortem in the King George Hospital.
