Rally organised to solve pending demands

NIZAMABAD: The Indira Kranthi Patham (Velugu) employees and workers under the banner of the IKP Employees’ Welfare Association, here on Friday, took out a rally demanding an early solution for their long-pending demands.

The demands included regularisation of contract employees, implementation of Minimum Wages Act to over 500 Community Activists and also the House Rent Policy to all the IKP employees. Mandal training coordinators, community coordinators, assistant project managers and deputy project managers also took part in the rally and the dharna.

Speaking to The Hindu, the Association’s coordinator Maruthi said that the community activists were being paid only Rs. 500 per month and contract workers have been continuing on a contract basis for five years.

Their demands were long pending and the employees were left with no option but to agitate as their repeated appeals fell on deaf ears.
