Electrician found murdered

BANGALORE: A 28-year-old electrician was murdered at Suddaguntepalya in Mico Layout police station limits on Thursday morning. Passers-by found his body abandoned by the roadside.

The police said the victim Shankar, a bachelor, was staying in a house at Laggere. He was taking up small time electrical works.

On Wednesday, the night patrol found Shankar wandering on Suddaguntepalya Road in an inebriated state and shooed him away, asking him to go home.

On Thursday morning, the police received a call about Shankar’s body by the roadside. He had been stabbed on his chest with a sharp object such as a screw driver. The police are on the lookout for the perpetrators.

Chain snatching

The North Division police, which is receiving a lot of complaints about chain snatching in their area, arrested five persons allegedly involved in 11 cases reported in parts of Bangalore City and Bangalore Rural.

The suspects are allegedly involved in cases reported from Nelamangala, Doddbelavangala, Dobbaspet, Doddaballapur, Kudur and Chickaballapur. They have recovered 11 gold chains, five mobile phones and two motorcycles.

The police identified them as Shantakumar (23), Sridhar (24) and Vijay (25). The accused were waylaying people walking alone and relieving the gold chains.

“We are facing some difficulty in tracking the routes that are taken by these motorcycle borne offenders,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Yeshwantapur Sub Division, A. Nagappa.

Electrocuted

A 32-year-old employee of a granite factory was electrocuted in Jigani on Wednesday evening.

The Bannerghatta police said the victim Laloo Kumar, a native of Bihar, was electrocuted after coming into contact with a livewire in the factory.

The police have registered a case and are looking into the negligence of the factory establishment.

Suicide

Suresh, 34, a resident of Srinagar, was found hanging in his house on Wednesday. The police said Suresh, who was estranged from his wife, was living with his parents and a younger sister.
