PATNA: CPI (Maoist) members on Friday blasted two rail tracks and a government building in Jamui and Munger districts in protest against the arrest and alleged torture in police custody of one of their zonal commanders Kales alias Deepak in Jamui on Sunday. The naxalites first set off dynamites damaging the block office of Lakshmipur in Jamui district and then attacked the police station. The police retaliated forcing the naxalites to flee. They, however, blasted the railway tracks between Narganjo and Ghorparan stations on the Howrah-Delhi route affecting movement of trains. Several trains were detained and many rescheduled. The Maoists also exploded bombs on the up track of the Bhagalpur-Kiul section between Ghoghi and Bariarpur stations. Another planted on the down line, however, did not explode. It was defused by the police later.
