Vidya Jain Academy wins

NEW DELHI: Agnesh Surya’s half-century and three-wicket bags by Naresh Jain and Sanjay Verma piloted Vidya Jain Academy to a 12-run victory over Young Friends Club in the final of the Delhi Premier League cricket tournament at the Najafgarh Sports Complex.

The winner was presented Rs. one lakh and the runner-up Rs. 51,000. Chetan Sharma and Sanjay Verma were adjudged the ‘best batsman’ and ‘best bowler’ respectively. Puneet Bisht was declared the ‘best wicketkeeper’ and Ajit Chandela, the ‘best all-rounder’.

The four ‘best players’ were given Rs. 21,000 each, apart from a cricket kit.

The scores (final): Vidya Jain Academy 192 for eight in 20 overs (Agnesh Surya 55) bt Young Friends 180 for seven in 20 overs (Ajit Chandela 44).
