Man trying to flee with cash bag nabbed

NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man has been arrested in Chandni Chowk here while allegedly trying to flee with a bag containing over Rs.7 lakh in cash.

According to the police, the incident took place when Ashok Kumar, cash operating executive of a reputed company, was collecting cash from businessmen in Chandni Chowk on behalf of Standard Chartered Bank on Thursday. As he reached his official vehicle parked on Desai Marg, a young man pushed him and snatched his bag containing the cash. Ashok raised an alarm and the accused was caught by passers-by after a short chase and handed over to the police. He was later identified as Kabir.
