NEW DELHI: Rajesh Talwar’s compounder Krishna misled the Noida police during preliminary investigations in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation has said. The Noida police arrested Rajesh Talwar reportedly on the basis of Krishna’s disclosures. Krishna allegedly weaved a story claiming that Dr. Talwar had seen Aarushi and Hemraj in an objectionable position, which led to their murders. The CBI, however, did not find any merit in the theory. When no concrete evidence was found against Dr. Talwar, the needle of suspicion pointed to Krishna. CBI Joint Director (Special Crime) Arun Kumar on Friday said several factors pointed to Krishna’s role in the murders. Dr. Talwar’s wife Nupur had said that around 6 a.m. on May 16, hours after Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered, her husband called Hemraj on his mobile phone when he did not open the door for the maid. Someone answered the call, but immediately disconnected it. Investigations revealed that Hemraj’s mobile phone was then somewhere in the same area and Krishna lived near Dr. Talwar’s residence. The entry into the Talwar house was friendly, suggesting that someone known to Hemraj was involved. Also, the CBI found that Krishna was upset with Dr. Talwar as he had chided him publicly for some mistake two days before the murders. According to the CBI, Krishna disclosed during the narco-analysis test that he accidentally brought Hemraj’s mobile phone home after the murders. He realised it when Dr. Talwar called. He then allegedly disposed of it. He also reportedly said that Raj Kumar took away Aarushi’s mobile phone. The CBI said experts who conducted a psycho-analysis test on Krishna concluded that he had aggressive tendencies, was not loyal to anyone and was intelligent, deceptive, evasive and manipulative. The experts, it is said, found that Krishna knew what kind of answers would please them. While the agency is trying to recover the mobile phones, it claims to have found some forensic evidence corroborating the revelation by the accused that they returned to Aarushi’s room and slit her throat after killing Hemraj on the terrace. Forensic experts found blood samples on Aarushi’s pillow matching Hemraj’s blood group. Injuries on Aarushi also suggested that she was first hit on the head with a hard blunt object and her throat was slit later.
