OCA felicitates Pragyan Ojha

CUTTACK: The Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) on Saturday gave a fitting felicitation to the latest Indian spin sensation Pragyan Ojha, who has become the fourth player of the State to book a berth in the Indian Test playing team.

Pragyan, a native of Bhubaneswar who plays for Hyderabad in the nationals, is for the first time in the State after being named in the Team India for the forthcoming Test series in Sri Lanka.

The left-arm spinner visited the Barabati stadium, the Mecca of Orissa cricket on Saturday after a rousing welcome in Bhubaneswar on Friday. During his visit to the city, Pragyan was felicitated by OCA, the richest sporting body of the State. OCA secretary Asirbad Behera led from the front to shower blessings on Pragyan along with other honorary members of OCA.

“We wish him all success and hope that he has a prolonged stint in the Indian team as a key player spearheading the India’s envious spin attack”, Behera said while presenting a silver plaque to Ojha. He said he nurtures a dream to play an ODI at the Barabati grounds in front of his home crowd one day. “I came here as a school player about 10 years ago. I have not played much cricket in this ground. But I hope to play for the country one day”, he said .
