PUDUKOTTAI: The Pudukottai District Youth Congress has planned to launch a ‘blood signature’ campaign in parts of the district to mobilise support from the members of the public for restoration of the Parliamentary constituency status for the district. The Pudukottai Parliamentary segment has been apportioned among the adjoining four districts, thereby eliminating it from the Parliamentary map of the country as per the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission. A resolution adopted at a meeting of the District Youth Congress held here on Saturday referred to the recommendation and said that it would launch a blood signature campaign and send it to the President Prathiba Patel. Another resolution urged the district administration to set up an all-party committee for ensuring the expeditious and quality implementation of the underground drainage scheme in the town. The district president of Youth Congress wing Azad presided over the meeting. The vice-president R. Sivakumar; the State vice president S.P.N. Sathiyamoorthy; and the district president of Seva Dal R. Sivakumar were among those who spoke.
