Chandigarh: The army on Saturday evacuated a new-born child suffering from a fatal disease in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district, flying him to a hospital in Shimla for a life-saving surgery. The child suffering from Oesophagal Attrecia, a life-threatening disease, was flown in an army chopper despite inclement weather to Shimla where the much-needed surgery was performed on the child at a hospital, a defence release said here. The army swung into action following a request for the evacuation of the child from the district authorities.
