Four pilgrims killed in car crash

Rourkela: Four pilgrims were killed and two others critically injured when the jeep in which they were travelling to the holy town of Puri hit a truck in neighbouring Deogarh district today, police said.

The accident took place near Barkot, about 180 km from here, when the victims were on their way to witness the ‘bahuda’ (return journey) festival of Lord Jagannath.

Bodies of the deceased were badly mutilated and had been retrieved from the mangled vehicle by using a gas cutter, the sources said. - PTI
