CPI (M-L) activists giving vent to their fury against the proposed Indo-US nuclear deal at a rally in New Delhi on Saturday. NEW DELHI: The Delhi unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) New Democracy held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar here on Saturday in protest against the United Progressive Alliance Government’s stand on Indo-US nuclear deal. Addressing the demonstrators, the party’s Delhi secretary Aparna demanded resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh saying his government was trying to reduce the debate on the serious issue of nuclear deal to a numbers game in Parliament. The deal would mean that American imperialism was going to decide India’s foreign policy, she charged. Naujawan Bharat Sabha president Mrigank said the Government’s eagerness to finalise the deal was intriguing as it had itself admitted that nuclear energy would meet only a small fraction of the country’s energy needs.
