SI arrested on graft charge

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police have arrested Chikkahanumanthaiah, Sub-Inspector of Seshadripuram police station, for allegedly accepting Rs. 3,000 for releasing a person. Chikkahanumanthaiah and his staff had illegally detained the son of Narasimha and two others. Chikkahanumanthaiah and his staff allegedly demanded Narasimha to pay Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 5,000 respectively for releasing the three persons. Chikkahanumanthaiah later demanded Rs. 3,000. On a complaint, Chikkahanumanthaiah was caught taking money.
