THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is embarking on a massive and ambitious exercise of collecting the details of all institutions, small and large, which provided lodgings for native and foreign tourists with the intention of putting them up in the Kerala Tourism’s website. Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who is also in charge of Tourism, said here today that the work would be done by the Economics and Statistics Department. He asked everyone connected with the tourism sector to cooperate with the officials of the department when they approached them to collect the details. More details about the project could be had from the secretaries of the DTPCs and the district level Deputy Directors of the Economics and Statistics Department. The preliminary data collection would be done between July 25 and August 14, he said. The Minister stated that the project which would exploit the immense possibilities of information technology would make available the details of each and every institution in the area to the tourists.
