Central Zone in command

VIJAYAWADA: T. Vamsi Krishna (70) and P. Durga Prasad (52) helped Central Zone gain the upper hand against North Zone in the three-day ACA u-19 inter-zonal tournament for P. Narasimha Raju Trophy here on Saturday. At draw of stumps on the second day, Central Zone was 288 for seven with an overall lead of 380 runs.

The scores: ACA Central Zone 187 and 288 for seven in 80 overs (T. Vamsi Krishna 70, P. Durga Prasad 52, Ch. Ramesh 51, G. Brahmananda three for 83 vs. ACA North Zone 95 in 48.5 overs (B. Sudhakar five for 22).

Anantapur to host

Anantapur will host the South Zone u-19 junior women inter-state tournament from October 10 to 16

The venues: South Zone senior women inter-state one-day tournament, November 21 to 28 at Anantapur; South Zone senior inter-state two-day tournament, January 1 to 14, 2009 at Anantapur; South Zone senior inter-State Twenty20 tournament, April 12 to 16 at Vijayawada, U-19 Vinoo Mankad trophy one-day South Zone league, October 20 to 26 at Vizag; U-19 Cooch Behar four-day Elite ‘B’ tournament, November 22 to December 19, Vizag, South Zone Subbaiah Pillai one-day tournament, February 15 to 21, 2009 at Vizag.

Under-14 probables

Twenty-eight probables were picked for the selection match to select Krishna District Cricket Association’s u-14 team to be held at Siddhartha Medical College grounds on July 14 and 15.
