Coimbatore: Seasoned campaigner Ameya Walavalkar edged out favourite Rayomand Banajee for the pole in the senior class in the third round of the JK Tyre Rotax Mojo Max Indian karting challenge 2008 at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam here on Saturday. Kolhapur’s Parth Ghorpade did likewise in the junior class with the fastest lap timing of 00:39:808. Dhruv Mohite of Kolhapur, as expected, took the prime spot in the Rotax Micro Max class. Pole positions: Senior: 1. Ameya Walavalkar 00:39:757; 2. Rayomand Banajee 00:39:821; 3. Rounak Patil 00:39:896. Junior: 1. Parth Ghorpade 00:39:808; 2. Chitesh Mandody 00:39:817; 3. Nikhil Kashyap 00:39:939. Micro-Max: 1. Dhruv Mohite 00:47:906; 2. Krishna Mahadik 00:48:123; 3. Arjun Maini 00:48:343.
