Varma hits hundred
VISAKHAPATNAM: A.S.K. Varma scored a fine 111 (16x4, 3x6) as East Godavari gained first-innings lead over Srikakulam while Vizianagaram fought well but conceded a first-innings lead to Visakhapatnam in the round-robin matches of the ACA North Zone seniors’ inter-district tournament here on Saturday.
The scores: Srikakulam 243 and 71 for three in 18 overs drew with East Godavari 352 for nine in 90 overs (A.S.K. Varma 111, S.V. Ramesh 84, M. Krishna Murthy 63, S. Suresh four for 54, M.S. Deepak Kumar four for 98).
Visakhapatnam 234 and 168 for five in 30.4 overs (S. Kranthi Kumar 89, B. Sumanth 51) drew with Vizianagaram 219 in 78.1 overs (M. Uma Mahesh 69, Md. Taj Babu 53).
