Chennai: B.S. Adityan, President, Tamil Nadu Olympic Association, made a fervent plea to the State’s administrators to aim high and strive for positions in the national and international federations. He was replying to the felicitations from the members on the conferment of Padma Shri award recently by the Government of India. Mr. Adityan, who is also the President of Volleyball Federation of India and head of the Finance Commission in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), complimented the officials of the state associations for their contributions to the sport. Mr. Adityan said he owed his own rise in sports administration, which started with a modest aim to promote volleyball at the district level, to honest endeavour. Earlier, Walter I. Dawaram, President, Tamil Nadu Athletics Association and Vice-President, TNOA, and D.V. Sundar, Secretary, Asian Chess Federation, had a few words of praise for Mr. Adityan. — Special Correspondent
