Table Tennis
A very good experience, says Sharath Kamal
CHENNAI: For India’s National table tennis champion Sharath Kamal, the intensive 11-day training in Paris and Vittel, has been “a really very good experience”.
Preparing for the Beijing Olympics, Sharath sparred with World No.17 Kreanga Kalinikos of Greece and World No. 26 Jean-Michel Saive of Belgium among others
“It was of high intensity,” Sharath, World No. 79, explained.
“Though I played well, I was always wondering whether I am matching their levels. In the end, they gave me some hints and spoke a few good words about my game.”
Sharath, now in Madrid, will play a few practice matches in Barcelona before leaving to Beijing. — Principal Correspondent
