Motorist killed

P. Rakkiappan (47) of Kallakudi, a motorcycle rider, succumbed to injuries he sustained after being knocked down by a Government bus on Tiruchi – Ariyalur road at Angarai on Friday. Police sources said Rakkiappan was riding a two-wheeler towards Kallakudi when a government bus bound for Tiruchi collided head-on with his vehicle causing head injury to him. Rakkiappan who was admitted to the Lalgudi GH succumbed later. The bus driver A. Ammasi has been cited as the accused.
