imagination at work: Children participating at a drawing competition held to mark the birth anniversary celebrations of Kamaraj on Sunday. PUDUCHERRY: Children from Standard III to X exhibited their drawing skills at a competition held to mark the birth anniversary celebrations of Kamaraj. The competition was organised by the Pondicherry State Artist’s Society on Sunday. Around 180 students from government and private schools took part. “We have given the participants a chart with a bust-size outline of Kamaraj. They have to colour the picture using any medium such as water colours or colour pencils. The chart also has two circles on each side in which they have to draw two schemes introduced by Kamaraj,” coordinator I. Emile said. The society was organising the competition for the 10th consecutive year. Three special children from Karunya School, Reddiarpalayam, also participated in the contest. A student from each class would be selected for the first prize. The prizes would be distributed on July 20. All the students received participation certificates.
