Emphasis is on study of case history

HASSAN: Ayurveda expert Venkatesh Bendre has urged doctors to study the medical history of each patient carefully before providing treatment.

He inaugurated the Continued Medical Education programme on “Basthi Chikitsa at the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatha College of Ayurveda here on Saturday. The CME was organised by the postgraduate division of the Panchakarma department of the college. Mr. Bendre said “Basthi” treatment was one among five purificatory ayurvedic procedures called “Panchamakarma.” Chief guest Prasanna Eithal described Ayurveda as not only a treatment, but a way of life.
