Relief for rain-hit ryots soon: YSR

HYDERABAD: Payment of compensation through cheques to farmers of 15 districts whose crops were affected by unseasonal rains would be made within a week. This assurance was given by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to a delegation of the Andhra Pradesh Ryotu Sangham, led by K. Ramakrishna, when it called on him at the camp office. Mr. Ramakrishna said in a statement later that Dr. Reddy directed officials to ensure payment of compensation to farmers. –Special Correspondent
