BSNL employees oppose CTO closure
CHENNAI: BSNL Employees Union (BSNLEU) on Sunday sent telegrams to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi seeking their intervention in saving the CTO at Chennai Central station from closure.
Chennai Telephones which had initially shortlisted the CTO for making it a full-fledged Customer Service Centre (CSC), later proposed closing down the unit after the Southern Railway demanded commercial rentals.
BSNLEU office-bearers G. Kumar and Sridhara Subramanian on Sunday also sent telegrams to Minister of State for Railways R. Velu, Union Communications Minister A. Raja and PMK founder S. Ramadoss. — Special Correspondent
