NEW DELHI: The National Foundation for India has announced the 14th national media fellowship programme inviting applications from young, mid-career journalist who are interested to carry out research and publish articles/photo essays on issue concerning the less privileged that need to be high on our society’s agenda. The Rs.1 lakh fellowships will be awarded to print journalists, of which two fellowships will be awarded for projects focused on conditions in rural areas. Two fellowships will be awarded to photojournalists. Additionally fellowships under three new categories will also be awarded this year. In the new categories fellowships will be awarded to print journalists working in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka to write and publish articles on malnutrition/food security and the millennium development goals and also to print journalists to research and publish articles on distress seasonal migration and education deprived children. One fellowship will be awarded to a photojournalist to work on the issue of distress seasonal migration. The last date for receipt of applications is September 15 and details of the fellowships programme can be obtained from the Programme Officer, Media Fellowships Programme, National Foundation for India, Zone IV A, UG Floor, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road.
