CHANDIGARH: Family of the assassinated Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh has come out in support of the senior IPS officer, Sumedh Saini and expressed anguish at the demand by some politicians and advocates for his suspension. Through a statement issued on Saturday, former Punjab Minister and vice-president of the State unit of the Congress Tej Parkash Singh and PCC Secretary Gurkirat Singh, the son and grandson respectively of the slain leader, appealed to politicians to desist from making statements against Mr Saini, an IGP currently posted as Director of the Vigilance Bureau.
