Says Congress trying to create artificial rivalry Expects next Lok Sabha elections in October KATTAPPANA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.K. Krishnadas said here on Sunday that the Congress should explain to the people whether it would take the support of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in future in the wake of the latter withdrawing its support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. Mr. Krishnadas was talking to mediapersons here. He said whether the Union government survived the confidence vote or not would be decided by a few votes and the Congress was trying to create artificial rivalry. “The party should explain its official stand as the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and the All India Congress Committee held opposite views on the four-year support given by the CPI(M) to the Congress-led government at the Centre.” Mr. Krishnadas said there was the possibility of a third front in Kerala. He said the BJP believed that the next Lok Sabha elections would be held in October. Though his party was open to the idea of a third front in Kerala, it would announce candidates for all the Lok Sabha seats in the State, Mr. Krishnadas said. He also criticised the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) for its stance on the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal. “While opposing the deal, its Minister continues in the Cabinet and there is no relevance in the stand taken by the IUML,” he said.
