Adequate stock of fertilizers

DAP sale only through PACBs

NAGAPATTINAM: All the primary agricultural co-operative banks (PACBs) and private fertilizer traders in Nagapattinam district have adequate stock of all fertilizers to meet the requirement of the farmers in the Delta region for the month of July.

However, private fertilizer traders have been prohibited from selling DAP fertilizer (di-ammonium phosphate) and the DAP will be sold only through the PACBs.

M. Jayaraman, Collector, said on Sunday that the district had a total stock of 1,978 tonnes of DAP, 1,300 tonnes of urea and 1,207 tonnes of potash.

Prices fixed

The prices have also been fixed for various fertilizers per bag of 50 kg. DAP Rs.486.20, Super Phosphate Rs.176.80, Potash Rs.231.66, Urea Rs.251.16 and 20:20:20 – Rs.277.84.

The Collector appealed to the farmers to bring to his notice if they faced problem in getting the fertilizers so that immediate action would be taken to send fertilizers to the needy places.
