This Day That Age
The President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, on July 12 made an impassioned appeal to the people of India to make concerted efforts to increase food production, so that the foreign exchange expended for importing food grains could be saved and sufficient amount was made available for obtaining machinery required for the development of industries. The President was speaking at a public meeting at the Nizam college grounds in Hyderabad. The objective of all planning was to make the country self-sufficient in food and other matters and establish an order, where everyone lived peacefully and happily, he said.
