Laugh riot: ‘Oye Ki Girl Hai’ was staged in the city on Sunday for ‘Make A Wish foundation’. HYDERABAD: The Make A Wish Foundation as part of its fund raising activity organised the staging of a Hindi play ‘Oye Ki Girl Hai’ at Shilpa Kala Vedika here on Sunday. The comedy from Main Course Productions had the star cast of the popular Hindi television serial ‘Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai’ and revolved around a young girl’s indecision in finalising a suitable husband for herself. Produced by Nirav Parekh and with music by Kashyap Sompura, the play had the audience in splits with its comic narrative and excellent presentation by the entire cast. With an apt setting supported by good lighting, the play drew an audience that almost packed the Shilpa Kala Vedika. The cast included Aasif Sheikh, Rupali Ganguly, Rajesh Kumar, Nasir Kazi, Nikhil Dewan and Puja Kanwal. In her introductory remarks, the Foundation’s Hyderabad Division Programme Director Madhumati Chukkapalli thanked the volunteers, donors, medical fraternity and others for their active support. The division which started functioning in 2004 has so far fulfilled 1,125 wishes and brought hope, joy and cheer into the lives of children battling life-threatening illness.
