Need to regulate traffic

Sir, — Of late, there are traffic jams at many places such as Milagres College, Kankanady, Bandur well, Bunts hostel etc. It is probably due to ongoing road work for the improvement of narrow roads. The police recently placed dividers at many places and marked bus bays but the drivers still

stop outside the

mark. Vehicles are parked haphazardly on both sides of the roads. At certain points such as opposite to hotel Tajmahal, rikshaws enter “No entry” zones.

RTA should survey these aspects that create problems to people and should regulate the traffic.

Open libraries, hospitals

Sir, —Though BBMP collects 24 per cent cess as part of the house tax, of which 15%

is towards libraries

and hospitals, it has not opened libraries in all

the areas of the city. One

has to travel a long distance to reach a BBMP library. BBMP should set up

libraries and hospitals in all its wards.

Give free education

Sir, — To educate more children, especially poor, free education up to 10th standard is a must in all government schools and in the new private schools. They should be taught in Kannada. There should be employment for those who complete their education in Kannada.
