Man fatally assaulted

BANGALORE: A 27-year-old private company employee, who refused to part with his valuables, including cash and mobile phone, after being accosted, was allegedly murdered by three persons on Saturday.

The police said Manjunath (27), a turner in a factory in Kurabarahalli, was staying in the factory. On Saturday, he was returning to the factory after having dinner when three persons accosted him on J.C. Nagar 15th Main Road and demanded that he hand over his mobile phone to them. When he refused to give his phone to them, the three demanded Rs. 500 from him and he did not hand over cash too. Then, they assaulted Manjunath after he tried to free himself from them. He collapsed on the road, near the factory.

Manjunath’s colleagues, who noticed him lying on the road, rushed him to Victoria Hospital, where he died.

Assaulted, robbed

A gang of six men assaulted a resident of Subramanya Nagar and made away with Rs. 3.4 lakh in cash and the new vehicle that he was driving on Saturday.

According to the police, Naveen Kumar and three of his friends were on their way to Naveen’s sister’s house in Gayatri Nagar when the incident occurred. Two persons had parked two motorcycles blocking the Railway Parallel Road. When Naveen asked them to remove the vehicles, four more joined the two. They pulled out Kumar and his friends from the vehicle and drove away with Rs. 3.4 lakh in cash that was in the vehicle.

Waylaid

An employee of a security agency was allegedly relieved of Rs. 3 lakh by a gang of three persons in Doddakallahalli near Sarjapura Road on Saturday. The police said Chetan, who works with the security agency, was riding a motorcycle with his friend, Nanjappa, with Rs. 3 lakh in cash meant to be disbursed to the employees of security agency at Doddakallahalli.
