Man killed in accident

TAMBARAM: A 49-year-old man died on the spot and his son was hospitalised after the motorcycle which they were riding was hit by a speeding mini-lorry at Perumbakkam on the Medavakkam – Sholinganallur Main Road. A resident of Eswaran Koil Street in Thoraipakkam, Srinivasan was a sales officer with a plywood manufacturing company.

He was travelling with his son Elango, 25, a software engineer to Tambaram to board a bus to Kumbakonam. Srinivasan was planning to call on his mother. At Perumbakkam, Elango was negotiating a right curve when the motorcycle collided head-on with the mini lorry. Srinivasan fell and sustained head injuries and died on the spot. Elango was severely injured on his right leg and is undergoing treatment at the Stanley Medical College and Hospital, traffic police said.
