During recent rains, a fallen tree was leaning towards Dharamsingh Colony from the compound wall of a house, precariously posing danger to traffic at Vadapalani. An RCC cover slab was broken to pieces, posing as a death trap in an underground cable chamber near Muneeswararkoil, Vadapalani. Both were attended to by the Corporation of Chennai when I reported through emergency phone No.1913. The Corporation deserves all praise for its swift action. Brindha Sundaram Vadapalani More deluxe busesThe residents in and around Tiruvallur are indebted to the State Government for having introduced deluxe buses to various routes. However, the buses now plying between Tiruvallur and Arakkonam via Tiruvalangadu, a famous pilgrimage centre, are found inadequate. It is, therefore, requested to the TNSTC Villupuram division to add more buses on this route at the earliest. N.B.S. Manian Manavalanagar Sewage waterThe stormwater drains, built by the Chennai Corporation a few years ago on III Main Road, parallel to 100 Feet Road (Inner Ring Road), have been used by Metrowater and Ambattur panchayat sewage lorries to dump sewage water. Even after repeated complaints to the Corporation and the Metrowater, no action has been taken by the Corporation authorities to stop this menace and the stormwater canal has not been cleaned for the past two years. G. Abyvarghese Kolathur Bus standBuses covering more than half-a-dozen routes are operated from the Chromepet Hasthinapuram bus terminus. But, there is no proper bus stand with roof facility. Not only the commuters but also the staff of the MTC have a lot of inconvenience. The Pallavapuram municipality has long been promising that the bus stand will be constructed, but done nothing so far. Therefore, we appeal to the municipality and our elected representative to give top priority to providing proper shelter to the commuters of Hasthinapuram without any more delay. V. Santhanam, Chromepet
