Out of 253 candidates, 200 women participate in the run Take first IPS officer Kiran Bedi as model, aspirants told KARIMNAGAR: Women aspirants for the recruitment to the sub-inspectors of police were motivated by none other than the district top officers’ wives in Karimnagar town on Monday. Karimnagar range DIG N. Chandramouli’s wife Vijayalaxmi, Superintendent of Police Y. Gangadhar’s wife Geetha, Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania’s wife Reeta have also gave a pep talk to the women SI aspirants before the start of 2.5 kilometre run at the starting point on the outskirts of Karimnagar town. Reeta Sultania flagged off the 2.5 km run for the women aspirants. They also cheered and motivated the candidates to clear the event with ease. Speaking on the occasion, Vijayalaxmi Chandramouli called upon the aspirants to take first IPS officer Kiran Bedi as their model and excel in the sub-inspectors selections and strive to bring reputation to the department. Geetha Gangadhar assured all assistance to the women aspirants from the police welfare society during the 2.5 km run competitions. The dignitaries have also distributed glucose and electoral powder to the participants at the finishing mark of the 2.5 km run to all the participants. They also distributed fruits to the candidates after the run. Out of a total of 253 woman candidates, only 200 participated in the 2.5 km run on Monday. For the absentees, the 2.5 km run would be held on July 24.
