Dole sought

PUDUCHERRY: The 11th conference of the Puducherry unit of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Saturday urged the territorial government to implement the scheme to provide assistance to the educated unemployed.

A resolution adopted at the meeting said the names of 1.92 lakh unemployed persons were on the live register of the employment exchange in the Union Territory. The jobless had migrated to other areas seeking employment, it added. The meet called for steps to simplify the rules so that the unemployed youth would be able to avail themselves of the benefit without hassles.
