Woman, son fatally knocked down

VILLUPURAM: An engineering college student and his mother died when a car mowed down the commuters waiting at a bus stop near Mailam Engineering College at Mailam on Monday. Another student sustained serious injuries.

The police said K. Mythili (40) of Kondur and her son K. Susidharan (18), a first year student of Madha Engineering College, along with Kamalakannan, a third year student of Mailam Engineering College, were waiting at the bus stop.

A speeding car lost control and knocked them down, killing Mythili and Susidharan on the spot.
