TIRUNELVELI: Minister of State for Home V. Radhika Selvi will inaugurate the new building of the Central Hospital for beedi workers at Mukkoodal on July 16. According to Deputy Welfare Commissioner, M. Sambasiva Rao the hospital building, constructed at the cost of Rs. 4.15 crore with the total plinth area of 4,764 square metre, will have casualty, gynaecology, laboratory, ward block, out-patient, central, laundry and administrative blocks. The Central Hospital will cater to the needs of 40,000 beedi workers in and around Mukkoodal and 4 lakh workers throughout Tirunelveli district can be referred to this hospital for investigations and treatment, Mr. Rao said.
